Kirkistown and Grennan to bring season to a close

There will be a new look to the end of season weekend this year with Kirkistown and Grennan set to host the final two point-to-points of the 2020/21 campaign.
The Stewards of the Irish National Hunt Steeplechase Committee have released a revised fixture list for the remainder of the season which will see 13 fixtures taking place over the final four weekends beginning this weekend at Broughshane, Tattersalls and Dromahane.
Next weekend the action moves to the annual two-day Necarne fixture on Friday and Saturday May 14th and 15th, with the opening day now an afternoon meeting, followed by Ballindenisk and Stradbally on the Sunday.
The Kildare Foxhounds were unable to run on their traditional February date and have rescheduled for Saturday, May 22nd with that day also featuring day one of the two-day fixture at Ballingarry, with Tralee completing that weekend’s action on Sunday, May 23rd.
The season comes to a close on the weekend of May 29th and 30th, with the North Down (F) fixture at Kirkistown, followed 24 hours later by the Kilkenny (F) meeting at Grennan, as the track at the Thomastown GAA grounds returns from an absence of four years.
All meetings will be subject to strict Covid-19 Protocols and only essential staff will be permitted entry on production of a valid barcode.
Only one groom per horse plus the Handler or representative will be allowed access and this will be strictly enforced, with no owners, spectators or children permitted.
Specifically for the opening day of the Necarne fixture on Friday, May 14th, all essential staff attending must complete their pre-online health screening on the IHRB website between 9am and 8pm on Thursday 13th May in order to be permitted entry to this fixture
