PREVIEW: Tipperary (F) at Tipperary Racecourse
Tipperary Racecourse hosts its second point-to-point in the month of April on Saturday, with this fixture organised by the Tipperary Foxhounds.
The meeting also moves to the inside schooling track and commences at 12 noon with a large entry of 181 horses sure to necessitate a number of divides.
Race 1 – Walter Connors Veterinary Surgeon & INHSC Supporting Point-to-Points 4YO Auction Maiden
With the benefit of a debut run under his belt, BENIGN DICTATOR would look to set the benchmark for this as he was only beaten by six lengths in a four-year-old point-to-point bumper at Punchestown last month.
Kilbunny Pontic will be getting weight from each of her rivals and took on older horses when finishing a respectable fifth in a Tipperary point-to-point bumper, whilst Carlo Du Berlais was still in contention when exiting with three to jump around here earlier in the month.
Race 2 – Minella Times = Henry de Bromhead & Hotel Minella and Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale 4YO Geldings Maiden
ALTO ALTO was able to improve his finishing position when finishing third around here earlier in the month and that experience will stand to him.
Benign Dictator is the other horse with form but does have the option of running in the Auction maiden on this card, with the remainder of the entries dominated by newcomers.
Race 3 – Goffs Punchestown Sale Honeysuckle 5YO Mares Maiden
There is not a lot separating the Colin Bowe pairing of RAMBLE WEST and Peters Peppy who both showed a great deal of promise in respective divides of the mares maiden at Cork earlier this month and they could take plenty of beating if this race was to be divided.
Clearly Crazy, Peerless Beauty and Oceans Of Money are others that are respected.
Race 4 – Tom Malone Bloodstock, Jonjo O’Neill Racing & Paul Nolan Racing 5YO Geldings Maiden
LOUGHDERG ROCCO finished a very promising second at Cork earlier this month in a performance which saw him pull 12 lengths clear of the remainder and it would not be a surprise to see him go one place better here.
Jalkadam is a horse that has offered a great deal of promise from the outset of his career and he was certainly not discredited when finishing third against a nice type at Punchestown last month, whilst Git Maker and Kingofthewest both represent yards that were in the winners enclosure in this age group last weekend and they have both run well.
