Bumper entries for opening weekend of the season

The opening weekend of the 2020/21 point-to-point season has drawn a big entry with this weekend’s two fixtures at Ballingarry and Oldcastle both attracting an entry of over 100.
 
The season could well begin with a number of divides for the season-opening fixture at the Tipperary venue as with no fewer than 48 horses engaged in the Clifton Farms five-year-old geldings’ maiden, whilst 35 horses have been entered for the Dungar Quality Oats and Liffey Mills four-year-old geldings’ maiden.
 
The B L Swagger and Seymour Kenny Open looks the race of the weekend with 28 potential runners in a top class field that features leading lights in the sphere such as Arctic Skipper, Samanntom, Marinero, Better B Quick, Some Are Lucky, former Champion Longhouse Music and Sizing Solution. 
 
At Oldcastle on Sunday, the BD Flood & Sons Limited five-year-old geldings’ maiden attracted the largest entry with 28 horses, whilst there are 27 horses engaged in the Triermore Stud four-year-old geldings’ maiden.
 
Handlers and riders who will be in attendance this weekend should note that mandatory online registration and health screening will be required to gain access to both fixtures and this will be available between 9am on Thursday and 8pm on Friday.
