Keskonrisk Sets New Record at Doncaster January Sale

The much-anticipated Point-to-Point/Form Horse Session at today’s Goffs UK January Sale at Doncaster produced a new sale record with the Camas Park Stud consigned Keskonrisk selling for £370,000.

Offered as Lot 236, the five-year-old made a big impression with a smart debut bumper win for Timmy Hyde at Fairyhouse on New Year’s Day. With a quality pedigree to match, being a No Risk At All half-brother to the Gr.2 winner Grand Sancy, he attracted bids from around the ring before being knocked down to Henrietta Knight for £370,000.

The session also saw the Robert Tyner offered Fishkhov (Lot 250), who placed second on his debut P2P at Dromahane, make six figures when selling to Kevin Ross Bloodstock for £115,000. Sunday’s P2P winner at Carrigarostig, A Distant Place (Lot 264), was another to feature when selling to Highflyer Bloodstock from Fiddaun Farm for £78,000 while Nicky Richards Racing’s bumper winner Elios d'Or (Lot 251) made £58,000 to the bid of Robert Walford.

The general horses-in-training session was topped by the Royal Ascot winner The Grand Visir (Lot 288) who was offered by Dominion Racing Stables and sold to Ian Williams and Richard Ryan for £40,000. The pair also went to £35,000 to secure Shadwell Stud’s Listed placed Walhaan (Lot 286).

Goffs UK Managing Director Tim Kent commented:

“As with yesterday’s NH foals, feedback on today’s session was very positive when the catalogue was released and to see Keskonrisk set a new record price of £370,000 is a great result.

“Over the two-days we have welcomed a diverse buying bench and have exceeded last year’s turnover with 35 less horses so we have made a positive start to 2020. We would like to extend our thanks to the vendors who have supported the sale and now turn our efforts to the Aintree Sale at the Randox Health Grand National Festival where we look forward to offering more high-end pointers and form horses.”
