LAOIS (F) at Stradbally on 25 May 2019

Originally scheduled to take place last Sunday, this point-to-point meeting at Stradbally is now set to take place this coming Saturday. The track is situated in the picturesque Stradbally Estate, home to the Cosby family since the reign of Edward VI. 

We spoke with hunt secretary David Lalor to find out how preparations have been going this week.

"Preparations have gone very well this week. It's a lovely track so we are hoping for a good day on Saturday."
 

NORTH KERRY (H) at Tralee on 25th May 2019

First Race: 2:00 pm
Entry: 140
Admission: €10 and Kids go free

This Saturday at Ballybeggan Racecourse in Tralee, the North Kerry Harriers will host their annual point meeting. The meeting has been running at the Old Tralee racecourse since 2011thanks to the dedication of the hunt committee. This year's fixture will run in conjunction with a whole host of additional activities for all the family. 

Bernadette Hanrahan, hunt secretary of the North Kerry hunt filled us in on how the preparations have been going in the run up to the meeting. 

 "We have been watering consistently so the ground will be good for racing and we are pleased with the entry."

"We have a lot of additional activities on throughout the day including a dog show, children's activities and we are hosting a pony race after racing. We also have a bar with music and food stalls on site for Saturday."
 

CARBERRY (F) at Inchydoney on 26th May 2019

First Race: 2:30 pm
Entry: 70
Admission: €10 

The Carberry Foxhounds will host their annual point-to-point on Inchydoney Island in Clonakilty with kind permission of the land owners Leslie and Emily Beamish. The fixture has seen a number of racing stars over the years including Sir Frederick, Newmill and the 2015 Cheltenham, Aintree and Punchestown hunter chase winner On The Fringe.
