The 2018 autumn point-to-point fixture list has been announced and it features a bumper 29 race meetings between October and December.
The season begins with the traditional curtain raiser of the Mid-Antrim meeting at Toomebridge on Saturday 6th October, with racing on the opening weekend being completed by the Westmeath fixture at Castletown-Geoghegan 24 hours later.
In total, 10 fixtures will take place in October, with the South Westmeath’s, who lost their spring meeting, set to host their first ever autumn fixture on Sunday 21st October at The Pigeons
Thirteen fixtures in November ensure that it remains the busiest month of the autumn campaign beginning with fixtures in Rockfield and Grennan, both fixtures that were lost in 2017, whilst they are joined on November 4th by the Stonehall’s who race at Moig South, a new course which was well received during the spring.
The Wicklow’s made a welcome return to the fixture list last November, and they remain in 2018, when they host the second of two autumn meetings that will be held in Fairwood Park Tinahely on Sunday 18th November.
The final three weeks of the season will feature three consecutive triple header Sunday’s, beginning on Sunday November 25th with Lingstown, Rathcannon and Boulta and followed by racing at Mainstown, Ballindenisk and Corbeagh House on Sunday 2nd December.
The autumn campaign draws to a close on Sunday 9th December at Borris House, Tattersalls Farm and Boulta.
