Video Archives | Necarne 2002

Over the coming weeks, we will be adding videos to some of the old point-to-point fixtures that we have on file.  The next year we are adding videos from is the 2002 season.

The next meeting to be added to our video archive section is the Fermanagh’s point-to-point at Necarne.

Below is a re-cap of what happened on the day.

The opening race the Fermanagh Harriers point-to-point fixture at Necarne was won in good style by Carrigans Lad and J D Moore.

The mares winners of three went the way of Zaffaran In Eden in the hands of Colleen Letters.

The five and six-year-old geldings maiden saw an impressive winner in Sub Contract who came by 20 lengths under Shane Barry.

Scotia Nostra and Liam Lennon added another win to the their tally when running out a six-length victory of the open lightweight over Master Hunter.

The five and six-year-old geldings maiden resulted in on two finishers with Bonnybridge and James Smyth coming home in front.

The opening division of the seven-year-old and upwards geldings maiden was claimed by Jeannies Son and Aaron Stronge.

It was a double on the day for rider Shane Barry who won division two of the seven-year-old and upwards geldings maiden aboard Bard Of Drumcoo.

Battramstown Lad and Simon McGonagle landed the winners of three contest when running out a three length victory over Inch Abbey and Liam Lennon.

It was a quick double on the day for Simon McGonagle who won the following race on the card, the four and five-year-old maiden aboard Chariot Chief.

The ladies open lightweight saw an impressive winner in Soon Be Back who came in front by 10 lengths in the hands of Nikki Sell.  Nikki worked with Irish Point-to-Point services for over 10 years.

The six-year-old and upwards mares maiden saw Silverbridge and Noel McParlan come home in front for a 15-length victory over Shantilly Way.

The concluding six-year-old geldings maiden was won in good fashion by The Faloorie Man and Gordon Elliott.

Latest P2P Fixture Updates

The Ballymacad Hunts fixture will now take place at Tatterslls, there will be a second fixture at Loughanmore in April, whilst Taylorstown has been rescheduled for May 18th.
