Video Archive | Maralin 2000

Over the coming weeks, we will be adding videos to some of the old point-to-point fixtures that we have on file.  We are starting with the 2000 videos.

The Iveagh Hunt point-to-point at Maralin is the next meeting to be added to our video archives.

Below gives a brief re-cap of what happened on the day.

The opening confined hunt race saw a great battle between Tuska Ridge and Satco Bridge, with the latter just holding on close to the line to score by a neck in the hands of Gordon Elliott.

Truckers Tavern
and Saul McHugh made easy work of it when claiming the five-year-old geldings maiden.

A dramatic conclusion to the open lightweight, with longtime leader Bluefire refusing at the last leaving the path clear for Roscrily William and Warren Ewing only to be caught close home by Annie’s Arthur in the hands of Jackie Kidd.

Liam Lennon was seen to good effect when delivering his Seul Moi to lead on the run-in and score by six lengths.

The opening division of the six & seven-year-old mares maiden went the way of Ride On Bye and Jimmy Ryan.

It was a thrilling conclusion to the eight-year-old mares maiden with Tiger Dolly just holding on by a head to deny The Windy Vicar.

Division two of the eight-year-old and upwards mares maiden saw an impressive winner in the form of Owning.  The 10-year-old daughter of Phardante was guided to victory by Richie Barnwell.

The concluding race of the day, the adajacent hunt race was won by Ten Poundsworth and Kevin Ross.
