First Race:13:00pm
Number of Entries 23rd: 117
Number of Entries 24th: 91

Durrow point-to-point is located beside the ground of Durrow Abbey House and Durrow Church, just ten-minutes from Tullamore town. The course is ideal for spectators with the parade ring, bookies, finish line and services all within close proximity, ensuring an enjoyable two days of racing.

We spoke with the hunt secretary Colm O'Brennan to find out the how preparations were going for the two-day meeting.

"Preparations are well advanced, all of the fences are in order and the track is due to be inspected on Thursday. The ground conditions are good and we have a nice covering of grass too. The entries have been good this year also so we are happy with that. The catering will be done by Rumbles run by Peter Grimes over the two days."

DUHALLOW (F) at Liscarroll on 24 March 2019

First Race: 2:00 pm
Number of Entries: 116
Admission: €8, Children go free
Eircode: P51 FN25

The renowned fixture will take place on Sunday.

Point-to-point racing in Liscarroll has been run on the lands of the O’Brien family farm with little change since 1954.  The left-handed course is within walking distance of the local village.
The 116 strong entry is well spread and competitive racing is expected.

It is all systems go in Liscarroll as the organising Committee are preparing to welcome RTE Nationwide to the venue.

Siobhan Madden Secretary reports that; ‘the finishing touches to the Course are almost complete. The dry spell this week has been welcomed. There is a lovely covering of grass on the Course and the weather forecast for Sunday is favourable. We are looking forward to getting underway at 2pm when it will be business as usual’.

A new initiative for 2019 is a children’s bake Competition. Exhibits from boys and girls attending local Primary School’s in Liscarroll & Churchtown will partake. Judging of the exhibits will take place in a new marquee situated in the children’s zone.

The Liscarroll Committee are very proactive. The Club had a wonderful celebration on the life of the maestro Vincent O’Brien when joined by members of the O’Brien family (no relation to the land-owner) in 2017.
President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins was a visitor in 2018 and RTE Nationwide will be on site on Sunday.  Well done Liscarroll.
Traffic Notice: All Race Traffic via Mallow town please allow additional time due to road diversion.
