Viral sensations set to appear at Dungarvan point to point

It is all systems go for the Dungarvan point to point at Kilossera this weekend with the course is in great shape in advance of Sunday’s meeting. With a dry day and sunshine forecast, optimal conditions are in place for a great family day out. The Kilossera venue is famous as one of the best viewing tracks in the country with “the hill” creating a natural amphitheatre to enjoy the action from.

With last year’s new oval left-handed course layout proving a great success, and the favourable weather ensuring extra camera positions and a big screen will be in play, this really promises to be the best point to point experience possible.

With yielding to soft ground conditions and a fabulous covering of grass a bumper entry is expected, as unsuitably quick ground conditions have prevailed in most venues this winter.

Further intrigue will be added to the day with global news sensation Ask Heather set to line up in the Murray’s Family Pharmacy Mares Open. Declan Queally’s charge made news reels the world over following Mellary jockey Mike Sweeney’s remarkable recovery at Killeagh point to point aboard the 7yo mare.

Cappagh man Queally currently leads the handlers title race with 13 winners and Sweeney leads the novice riders championship with seven victories to his name.

The local duo are proving to be a formidable partnership and have the opportunity to add to their tally at their local point to point this weekend.

The first race on Sunday takes place at 12.30pm, and patrons are reminded there is ample parking available at the track. Entry is €8 and free for under 16’s.
