WEEKEND PREVIEW: Liscarroll (Sunday)

Race 1: Goffs UK Aintree sale 4yo maiden

Of the select number of horses with previous race experience, ON THE SLOPES looks to have the pick of form. The Donnchadh Doyle-trained son of Librettist ran well on debut at Tyrella on Monday and is sure to improve. Lismore runner-up Young Bull chased home a horse who has since sold for a big price and it will be interesting to see how he follows that opening effort up, whilst the market will give the best indication as to what is expected of the many well-bred newcomers.

Race 2: Topline Burtons, Kanturk 5yo Mares Maiden

ASKING A LOT finished third last time out in a competitive looking contest behind Sinoria, who was subsequently sold for 130,000 pounds. Burn Baby Byrne just missed out on the top spot last time out and has a chance to close here. Of the remainder, Drunken Tattoo and Wetbehindtheears could have the ability to get in the mix.

Race 3: Sygma Automation Winner Of One

STAROVOZ got off the mark at the very end of last season, winning a four-year-old maiden at Kinsale when beating Reikers Islands who has since also lost his maiden tag. The Morozov gelding is making his seasonal reappearance here and is the selection. Three Loud Knocks and Baily Fox both have the credentials to also get involved.

Race 4: Farm First Insurance 5yo Geldings Maiden

CHAIN SMOKER had to be considered unlucky when crashing out at the final fence in front last time out in Horse and Jockey and is an improving type who should go close here. Old Rascals finished second on debut in Cragmore in February, before running out more recently, whilst Blue Monday and Rocky’s Silver both posted good efforts last time out.

Race 5: Collins Bros, Garage Liscarroll 6yo+ Mares Maiden

ROLLERCOSTER finished a close second at Belharbour in February and should have the measure of her rivals on that run. Vivalino has hit the crossbar on her three previous outings and is surely due a day in the winners enclosure soon. Here Comes Maggie made her debut at Dungarvan in January when coming down at the last, and she should come on from the run and could feature here.

Race 6: Exors of The Late Dr. R.J Sheehy 6yo+ Geldings Maiden

BIG MAN CLARENCE could be the one to follow in this open looking contest having only found one to good last time out at Bandon. He has track experience and should like the conditions. Could be better, Gatacre Street and Mega Udais Speed are also worth a look.
