Seven set for Fairyhouse re-run

Seven set for Fairyhouse re-run

A field of seven horses has been declared for the rescheduled Fairyhouse maiden hunter chase on Wednesday.

The 2m5f contest was originally due to take place at Clonmel in the middle of January but was forced to be abandoned due to heavy fog and was then added to Fairyhouse’s January meeting but snow and ice conditions cancelled that meeting.

Won last year by Island Master for the Willie Burke yard, three of the seven declared runners will be making their hunter chase debut.

Allannahs Gold (pictured), a winner at Nenagh last time out for the Declan Queally yard, will hope to back up his recent success and will be ridden again by Derek O’Connor.

Timewaitsfornoone, who was sold for £225,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham Festival sale in March 2016 following his win at Tinahely for Colin Bowe, made a winning debut for his new connections of Barry Connell and Alan Fleming at Aghabullogue in January and will be hoping to open his account on the track.

Follow The Moon will hope to go one better for his breeder, owner and trainer Joseph Daniels following finishing second to Burning Ambition at Limerick over the Christmas festival. The son of Rainwatch’s most recent run was at Belharbour at the beginning of February where he finished third to Sydney Paget.

Senators Glory, one of two mares declared for Thursday’s race, ran another consistent race at Nenagh last month when finishing second to Allannahs Gold having filled the runner-up spot on three other occasions so far this season.

Other notable declarations for the 2m5f contest include Dot Loves Thinkinmysleep who lost his maiden tag at Belharbour having finished runner-up at Dowth Hall in October.
