Faugheen made a seamless return to action when winning the Grade 1 Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown in impressive fashion.
The son of Germany who was making his first appearance in almost two years since winning the grade 1 champion hurdle at Leopardstown in January 2016.
The nine-year-old was guided to victory by Paul Townend who was deputising for the injured Ruby Walsh.
Townend made all aboard the Willie Mullins trained gelding, the pair pulled clear of the remainder and kept on strongly for an easy victory.
Faugheen started his career with Andy Slattery when winning his point to point maiden at Ballysteen he has since won 12 races under rules and has amassed over half a million in prize money.
