Brand New GoP2P.ie Website Launched

We are delighted to launch the latest addition to our online portfolio, GoP2P.ie, which goes live today and will act as a central space for all hunt committees to promote their individual point-to-point fixtures.

Hosting a seminar for all hunt committees in January under the title, ‘Maximising Your Meeting’, assisted the momentum which already existed to bring the sport forward. Bringing the hunt committees together to discuss and share ideas on how to improve the revenues which they generate from their meetings, has proven to be very beneficial. So many of the hunt committees who were in attendance have already actively engaged with the ideas which have made a real difference at their meetings.

After seeing these great additional efforts, we began developing the new website to aid those efforts of the hunts on the ground. The tremendous successes on the track of Irish point-to-point graduates in recent years has brought a great interest in the sport, and in recent times we have certainly noted a significant increase in the number of enquiries from people who have never attended a point-to-point, seeking to identify events near to them.

We hope that by linking the new website to our existing P2P.ie website, it will be easily accessible for those people who are looking into attending the sport, allowing each hunt to promote their own events to this new audience.

The new website includes:

Point-to-Point Guide
– a comprehensive guide to Irish point-to-point racing, featuring a history of the sport, a description of what to expect at the races, introductions to some of the key jockeys and trainers, as well as guides to betting, the racecard and much more.

Interactive Fixture List – will allow potential new racegoers to identify fixtures which may be suitable to attend by giving them the facility to filter the fixture list, by the location or month which is most convenient to them.

National Map – featuring the locations of all point-to-point tracks across the country which will allow users to easily identify the track which is nearest to them and when their next race date is.

Individual Fixtures – the largest section of the website will be the descriptions on each of the fixtures themselves. Each hunt committee will have a dedicated section of the website to promote their events across a number of pages. Within these pages will be details on the facilities at each course – the food, drink and attractions, alongside a map of the course’s location and contact details.

Today only marks the initial launch of the website and over the course of the 2017/18 season, as more and more information is added to the site, including all of the spring 2018 fixtures, a further launch will take place to mark the commencement of further promotional efforts of point-to-point racing in Ireland.
