TRACK GUIDE
Largy first joined the point-to-point fixture list in 2010. A circuit of three straights which is run right-handed, the runners begin just after the home straight where they race slightly downhill over two fences on the run away from the spectator area.
After taking a sharp right-handed bend, the runners begin the run back towards home over fences three and four. Immediately after jumping fence four, the field begin the right-handed climb into what is quite a short home straight and fence five, which is located after the winning post and therefore only jumped twice in all 3-mile races.
Fence four, which also acts as the final fence, can so often prove crucial, as it is located at the foot of a hill and it is important to hold an inside line, as the track immediately turns right-handed, with the climb lasting all the way to the winning line.
Grade 1 winner Getabird won as a four-year-old at Largy in 2016.

Largy is a nice track, but it can ride tight in certain places.
It is very fair in that you can drop out or make the running, and either way you have as good a chance. It is a good test of a horse that can sometimes better suit a big-striding horse.
Lads can get racing early at it, so it is a big benefit if you have a horse that you can hold onto for that bit longer, and ideally have the inside, particularly coming to the final fence, which they jump before going into the home bend.
