Pogue
5yo, GR, Geld, STOWAWAY (GB) (1994) - NIGHT PALM (IRE) (2003) (GREAT PALM (USA))
Pogue ran out a very impressive winner of the five-and-six-year-old geldings’ maiden on what his second start between the flags. The son of Stowaway had one previous run, at Dawstown at the beginning of May, when just failing to a more experienced type. A step above his rivals when winning, he took up the lead on the run to penultimate fence and soon held a strong advantage which saw him quicken clear to win by a comfortable ten-lengths at the finish. From the family of the former high class performers, Clondaw Warrior and Publican, Pogue has highlighted himself as a decent sort that can win more than his share of races when he makes his progression to park racing.
