Ratfacemcdougall (IRE)
5yo, Bay, Geld, Robin Des Champs (FR) – Milano Bay (IRE) (Milan (GB))
Ratfacemcdougall gained a deserved success for his connections at Largy in April in the five-year-old-and-upwards adjacent maiden. The son of Robin Des Champs made a very promising debut at Oldtown in February where he was runner-up to King Of The Sharks. The five-year-old then ran another creditable race at Tyrella in March to finish second before losing his maiden tag on his latest start. The Stuart Crawford-trained gelding was ridden prominently throughout before progressing to lead at the penultimate fence where he soon held a strong advantage over his rivals and returned home the six length winner. Out of a half-sister to the Grade one placed Spectroscope, Ratefacemcdougall has been a consistent servant this spring and looks like a horse that is set to further add to this winning family when he makes his progression to park racing.
